Fruit Flies

We were having a SERIOUS problem with fruit flies in the house! Not just the kitchen....they would follow you whenever you had food. It was driving us crazy! Josh wanted to go buy some spray or something....this momma wasn't having all those chemicals in her house with her little ones so I turned to the net. I found this great idea about little fruit fly traps. THEY WORKED WONDERS and Stephanie thought it was pretty cool too!! Below is how I made them and a picture of all the flies I caught overnight. Josh swore the dirty dishes was the problem.....well after three days of setting my traps the flies were gone (and we still always have a sink full of dishes ;)

I took baby food jars, put a raspberry in them (cucumber or banana works great too). I sealed the top with tape and poked tiny holes in it with a writing pen. Then I set four traps our throughout the kitchen. Here is what I caught in one night....It was awesome!! Instead of cleaning the traps out I just threw them away and made new one's each morning. If they got a few flies in them during the day I would go outside and let the flies go.....
