New Adventures......

I know, two posts in one day! Shouldn't I be getting ready for Josh to be home?? Don't worry! I vacuumed and mopped, did all laundry (folded and put away), cleaned the kitchen, finished painting the kitchen, planted potato vine in my pitchers in the kitchen and hung curtains....so I did get things done today. Hey, I even showered ;) But Stephanie and I also had alot of fun and precious moments....wanted to share (just in case Josh is able to check the blog. I read online that he should have computer access where he is)
Stephanie played in her big girl swing while I threw the toy for Boulder....she LOVES watching him play fetch.

We took another sweet nap (after I finished painting the kitchen). Notice the white paint on my arm.....It won't come off!

We are trying cloth diapers. I figured why mess around, I'll put them through the ultimate test (overnight with a little one who can REALLY fill a diaper!) I bought just one and have been doing some research. Most of what I read is positive and complaints are few and far between (and the same as with many reusable diapers). We'll see how they do tonight. If it works out for a couple days then I'll order a set of them and we'll go from there. These are the most "daddy" friendly ones which is important since ours is ALMOST HOME!!!! and don't worry Rebecca.....we'll still bring disposables for you ;o) Man, being a mommy has changed me in ways Josh or I NEVER thought were possible!! Next I'll be making my own baby food....No, really! Miss Becky gave me the ice cube trays and I plan to start making the food once Josh is home. I have a little baby food maker and everything. I have special Boon spoons on order.......We are all set to be a big girl ;) Man, before you know it I'll be wanting another baby (hee, hee)

Growing Girl....

Well today Stephanie and I got up early to go to the dr. She had to get two shots (from her 4 months visit, I just broke them up more). She was very brave and only cried for about 30 seconds (which is good, it's so hard on the mommy to hear them cry like that!!!) It's our last shot visit without Daddy (mommy needs some moral support ;) She came home and took a SWEET nap in my arms...I eventually had to put her in her crib so I could get some cleaning done (she slept over two hours!)
Yesterday she practiced sitting up using her boppy and new soft pillow. We had to watch the "new" dvd's we bought at the 2nd hand store to be sure they worked....
She watched some laying down.....
and some upside down......she's her daddy's daughter, loving her TV :)
Our Veggie Tale collection is slowly growing....at $4.50 a piece (2nd hand store) you can't go wrong!!

ON HIS WAY

Josh just sent me a text message from HIS American cell phone......and he is on his way home!!! Not sure what I can and can't post (for security reasons) but figured I could let everyone know he is heading this way ;) I still have a several days to wait (and do some last minute cleaning and baking).....but will Twitter an update as soon as I see his handsome face :) Please pray for safe and speedy travels (and that nothing breaks down and causes their arrival to be delayed) Promise to have TONS of pictures to post of his arrival.....have plenty of people on "standby" with cameras charged and ready.....

Picture Update

Well it has taken me several hours over the last FOUR DAYS, but I FINALLY have all the pictures off my camera (my 2 GB chip was full), they are all saved in the appropriate folders and choice pictures have been edited and a montage has been created. This has taken an extra long time because Stephanie has decided that since all the wedding festivities she needs to be up late...like 10 or 11! so I'm up with her (and not having "me" time washing bottles and blogging). Then we sleep in (because we are both so tired) and the vicious cycle continues! Tomorrow we get up early to go to the dr for her shots....maybe that will help us get to bed at a decent hour....

Enjoy the pics! Soon they will be of the Brooks Family of THREE!!!

Look what our Daddy did......

Josh made this AWESOME montage for us! He figured it out during his "spare" time and has spent SEVERAL weeks on it. He just shared it with me....wanted to share it with ya'll. The song's lyrics aren't all the most fitting, but has a special meaning to us.....
Enjoy! Our Daddy will be here before we know it......

It was too big to put in the blog....you can view it at: View this montage created at One True Media

I'M DONE!!!

I had a long blog typed up laying it all out there. I've spent the past.....well while, being hurt, pissed, angry, disappointed, guarded, pissed (it's worth mentioning twice) and crazy protective of my family which has put me in kinda a funk......but through typing out my feelings, thoughts and personal choices God made some things very clear. I'm DONE!!!! (d-u-n-n....that's for you, Kati ;) Enough toxicity in my life.......I will share what God brought to my attention instead of my long rant(it was kinda an ugly journey to this point :)
  1. God is in control, I'm not and if I give the enemy any wiggle room he'll wiggle right into my head and try to take over.
  2. Life and people aren't always what you want them to be......but God is still in control.
  3. There is always healing.....we just have to seek Him and be patient.
  4. I have the verse I Corinthians 10:13 tattooed on my wrist for a reason! I should stop and remind myself of that when I am overwhelmed.
  5. Josh'll be home soon....I need to focus on that and not let ANYTHING or anyone take away from that joy!
  6. God has given MANY people the gift of writing.....I should read more! Thanks Kinome for suggesting an AWESOME book...it's rockin my world in a wonderful way!
  7. I have family and friends who love me and understand me....they know what's up in my life and are here to help (I should really call ya'll more when I need to talk ;)
  8. Did I mention Josh'll be home soon......sure, we'll have to adjust to life together and make some family decisions but WE get to do it together and I need to stop trying to carry the weight of it ALL on my own.....between God, Josh and I we should have things pretty well covered :)
  9. Our little girl is happy, healthy (and sleeping like a princess). We are a family and nothing will change that.
  10. Again, Josh will be home soon......I don't have to make any decisions on my own. He is a Godly man and will lead our family in such a way (boy, am I glad I'm the one who has the babies and not the one responsible for leading an entire family ;)

***My journey in dealing with "this" is far from over.....but God is taking it in a new direction and I can already feel relief and peace. Thanks to all who have covered it in prayer the past year, please continue to cover all involved in prayer***

Well after my late night phone call to mom, a good cry, my long rant (that I saved on my computer for further reflection but don't feel the need to share with the world) and my "Ten things learned" I am now ready for bed :) Off to join my sleeping princess and dream of our Daddy being here with us.......
