This week has been crazy in our house! I am running around like a mad woman trying to get life in order before the dreaded morning sickness pays a visit. Josh keeps saying "Maybe it won't happen this time, it can't be as bad as last time".......I forbid myself to think so positively about morning sickness. You see, my friends, last time I threw up...EVERYDAY.....ALL DAY! There was nothing "morning" about my sickness! Bob the barf bucket and I were an item....I never left home without him! So I figure I will just anticipate it coming, and then when it's not as bad as last time I'll just be relieved, and if it is I won't be so upset because it's what I expected.
Anyways, so it's been super busy for me! Lets start with Monday. I told work I was prego and that I quite. I was crying so hard when talking to my principal. It's hard for me to walk away from my kiddos! I love these kids so much! I have been working in my district for 10 years now and I don't know life without it. I won't know how to judge a year without Christmas, Spring and Summer break ;) My life has revolved around the school calendar since I was 5......and all my life has been in the same district. It's bitter sweet. I came to the realization though that I can't take care of my kiddos at work the way I want to AND take care of my family the way I want to...something had to give (and it wasn't going to be my family). So my last day will be the first week or two in June. I'm sure I'll cry the entire last week, but when the sun comes up that first morning in August and I'm not waking up to go to work.....I just may wake up and drink coffee on my back porch, because I CAN! It will be an amazing freedom not to work and to be able to focus on being a Mommy 24/7.....ahhhh, it will be nice!
So all week long I have worked cleaning out my classroom and bringing boxes of stuff home. Things I know I would use in homeschooling I have packed up and brought home, but there has been so much I know i won't use.....luckily I have a good friend at work who is going to be teaching next year so I'm giving a bunch to her. Anything I have left from 5th grade I have found homes for as well. I NEVER REALIZED how much stuff I had in my classroom!!!! Seriously, 2/3 of what I use is my own stuff.....I hate thinking about how much $$ I spent!! Oh, well......thus is life.
So I get my first order of YUMMY organic produce from the Co-Op I joined Tuesday (www.yourhealthsource.org) I am super excited! I can't wait to get all the fruits and veggies washed and put in the fridge! It will be fun planning meals around what we have. It's one more step in our saving $$ so we are able to keep our house when I'm staying home. I also have gone to an all cash system when grocery shopping. Yes, my friends, I am the nerd you see using her calculator when she is in Target....in her own world standing in the middle of the isle, sorry :)
Stephanie has had a great fun week doing her usual, playing and climbing :) She spent the night at her grandparents last night so Josh and I could go on a hot date. Josh gave her and I a card and rose.....what a great way to start our weekend. Then we went to a REALLY FANCY resteraunt. Don't worry...he didn't break the bank. He had a gift card from one of his extra jobs......the gift card itself was a SOLID COLD COIN. This resteraunt was AMAZING and probably the nicest place we have ever been. It was a blast and something we NEVER would have done otherwise.....and I enjoyed Starbucks coffee before work Friday which was another gift card from an extra job (nice perks, right :) It was fun to dress up and go someplace fancy (we laughed the whole time about normally we would be at home with a pizza and movie :) Today we got a new vacuum and I LOVE it!! It's an electrolux which mom says my grandparents have had for over 20 years (the same one). I have some cute pics of Stephanie trying to use it I'll post later.
Well off to mop the floors before Stephanie gets up from her nap. Happy Valentines Day to all.
Hey girly! I think Summer at nosugaradded has an herbal supplement that you take for morning sickness (it's a liquid you put in a drink). Check it out under the Mommy section. I use the herbals for allergies and digestive ease and have had nothing but positive experiences with them!!! xoxo
ReplyDeleteKristi, are you 5 weeks along? One thing I did notice for me is, it began at 5 weeks with each of them - if I got it. I didn't have any with Melody & Bethany. The Lord was merciful and I gave Him all the glory.

I had no idea you were pregnant again!! When did you find out? How far along are you? That is so great! Were you all planning this now? :-) I may have missed it on your blog . . . I don't know how but . . .
ReplyDeleteI want that! Someday! I am so happy for you and all you are doing for your family. I just bought a book "365 Ways to Go Green". I think you are doing a TON of what it suggests already! I hope to be doing most of it by the end of 2009 (minus all the building your home green....someday...just not in 09)
